Challenge
The existing proof of concept was functionally limited and did not sufficiently support the full complexity of custom cabinets, including variations and dependencies. Key options and exceptions could not be logically integrated within the existing flow.
Approach
Building on the initial proof of concept, we fully redesigned the configurator. The new setup respects Colengo’s technical constraints while introducing the additional complexity required to properly support all configuration options.

Summary
Colengo had developed an initial proof of concept for a configurator, but it lacked the structure needed to fully support digital customisation of cabinets. Required options, variations and exceptions could not be processed logically within the existing flow.
In collaboration with Colengo, we delivered a complete redesign. The configurator logic, structure and interface were redefined to accommodate the complexity of custom production. Supporting pages were designed to provide context around the product and guide users into the configuration process.

We started with a detailed analysis of the existing proof of concept and mapped all required options, variations and configuration exceptions for custom cabinets.

Continuous alignment with Colengo ensured that design decisions matched the underlying component structure, configuration logic and development workflow.
Structure & design
The configurator flow was restructured into a fixed and logical sequence, expanded to support additional options and dependencies. The interface was redesigned with focus on clarity and decision-making. All screens were created responsively to ensure consistency across devices.
Supporting pages, including home, inspiration, brand story and contact, were developed as an integrated part of the overall configurator experience.
Handoff & Review
Designs were delivered with clear specifications and documentation tailored to Colengo’s workflow. Through structured design reviews, we safeguarded alignment between design intent and implementation.
Results and Impact
The renewed configurator enables full digital configuration of custom cabinets, including required options and exceptions, within one consistent flow.
The result builds on the original proof of concept while better reflecting the product’s complexity and the technical reality of the Colengo platform.
