A learning platform that keeps learners engaged
Together with our development partner Beer n tea, we renewed the digital learning platform of hetveiligheidsboek.nl. More interaction and engagement, without disrupting ongoing courses.

hetveiligheidsboek.nl wanted to modernise the learning experience with a more interactive and motivating platform. The challenge was to do so within the existing system, without impacting active users or ongoing training programs.
Approach
We first clarified structure and key decisions before introducing new interaction. Together with Beer n tea, the platform was renewed step by step, allowing it to remain usable while gradually evolving.

Summary
hetveiligheidsboek.nl provides digital learning materials for safety training programs. The existing e-reader functioned well but offered limited room for interaction and learner motivation.
In collaboration with Beer n tea, we redesigned the complete learning experience. We improved structure and navigation, introduced modular building blocks, and added interactive elements, including Will-E as a supportive digital learning companion. By implementing the renewal in phases, the platform remained recognisable while the learning experience evolved.
Our approach
Kick-off & ideation
Together with the hetveiligheidsboek.nl team, we clarified goals, usage patterns and constraints. By analysing existing solutions and quickly sketching ideas, focus emerged around what was essential.
Wireframing & structure
Based on these insights, we designed the new learning experience in wireframes. Navigation was restructured and modular building blocks were defined as the foundation for content and interaction.
Design decisions
Together, we prioritised elements that would have the most impact on motivation and usability. We defined which components would become interactive, how Will-E would support learners, and how existing content could transition without inconsistencies.
Solution implementation
Beer n tea translated the designs into a working platform. Throughout development, we remained closely involved through alignment sessions, design reviews and testing to ensure design decisions and technical execution stayed aligned.
Results and Impact
The renewed learning environment supports a more active and structured learning process, with increased learner engagement. hetveiligheidsboek.nl now has a solid foundation to further expand and develop the platform.
For the upgrade of our e-learning platform, we engaged Beer n tea and Bonjourney. Hakim translated our requirements into modern and practical designs and played a key role in structure and planning. Communication throughout the project was clear and constructive. He is approachable and focused, and not hesitant to challenge decisions when necessary. With this renewed platform, we aim to reach tens of thousands of learners in the coming years with interactive safety modules.
